Since inception in 2004, ECDI has benefited local communities throughout the state of Ohio, assisted over 13,000 individuals, disbursed over $42 million through 2,000 small business loans, and created and retained over 7,300 jobs via our comprehensive suite of programs available through our offices. ECDI’s loans range from $500 to $350,000, serving a variety of clients and uses for the loans. The organization supports loans for new and established businesses. Many of our other services can help develop a new business into a loan-ready client.

Director of the Women’s Business Center of Columbus, OH


We are seeking a dynamic leader to be become ECDI’s next Women’s Business Center (WBC) of Ohio (Columbus Office) Program Director. The perfect candidate will be a creative, mission driven individual committed to facilitating the success of women entrepreneurs in a fast-paced environment. Core duties include providing one-on-one counseling, access to capital, networking, peer learning opportunities, and training. Candidates should possess: 1) an intimate understanding of the small business ownership experience, 2) topical knowledge in small business development and finance, 3) experience providing one-on-one small business development counseling and/or training with proven techniques, and 4) strong presentation and communication skills.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for directing operations of Columbus, Ohio Women’s Business Program to ensure policies and procedures are being followed, goals and objectives are met, and services and projects are accomplished efficiently and effectively; takes corrective action as necessary.
  • Responsible for ensuring coverage of WBC hours of operation.
  • Provides direct client services to include training and one-on-one counseling.
  • Implements client referral process, creating new, and maintaining existing relationships. This includes, community resources such as the SBDC, SBA, SCORE, local chambers, community organizations, banks and individual mentors.
  • Develops and conducts training curriculums, as needed. Schedules and oversees workshop activities, as needed.
  • Maintains accurate and complete client files as directed by program policies and procedures.
  • Assists with submission of program reports; collects data for compliance of grant; tracks and completes outcome reports for internal and external use. Troubleshoots technical submission challenges.
  • Prioritizes and allocates available program resources.
  • Ensures client and program records are secured and confidential, per institutional and program guidelines.
  • Prepares high quality written correspondence, reports, procedures, directives and other materials, as needed/requested.
