“I love it here and my son would agree. You truly don’t have to worry when dropping your little ones off here!”

“My son has learned so much in the last 3 months. We can tell because his language skills have expanded exponentially!”

It’s clear to see that Janeine Williams Borden’s vision for her family-focused childcare center, Little Arrows Childcare Center, is working. Based in Cincinnati, Little Arrows is a family and community based educational facility that fosters love and support for children.

Although she intended to keep her childcare center small, Little Arrows hit maximum capacity only a few months after opening. As she looked to expand the facility, Janeine was referred to ECDI by her bank for financing and support.

“Two months later, I was approved for my first loan. I never expected us to move into an 8,000-square-foot facility,” Janeine explained. Expanding from a small house with 25 children to a building with 65 children was a shock. “Little Arrows really took off. But our kids are my passion,” she said.

Janeine recalled how Steve Fireman, president of ECDI, visited the daycare after the center received a five-star quality rating, the highest ranking available, from the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. “I feel like ECDI really cares about the success of my business and I am more than just a number.”

“I often recommend ECDI and think it’s a great organization for people who are new to business. The resources and classes helped take my business to the next level.”

Janeine and her tight-knit staff take pride in providing a place children and families can come and experience a home away from home. “It truly has been a blessing watching our babies grow, no matter where they come from, their background or race,” she said.
