Do you want to test your business concept in a retail store without the barrier of costly overhead expenses? Thanks to funding from the Cleveland Foundation, ECDI's Encore participants have the exciting opportunity to operate a pop-up space in the Corner Shop Collective retail incubator space!

By completing this application, you agree to the following dates, time commitment, eligibility requirements, and process:

Eligibility

  • Due to the time commitment, residents of the City of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio will be given higher consideration.

  • Entrepreneurs looking to expand or start a business in a brick & mortar shop and looking for low overhead.

  • This program is ideal for home-based and product-based small businesses.

  • Business must be able to operate in a marketplace with a client facing business model.

  • Food-based businesses will require licensing to be eligible.

  • Business owners that are socially or economically disadvantaged, women, or in a minority group are encouraged to apply!

Time Commitment

  • The program lasts for one year with required weekly virtual check-ins.

  • Business owners must work together to maintain regular open hours 7 days a week.

  • Mandatory orientation will occur before program starts.

Selection Process

After filling out an application, interviews are conducted with eligible applicants starting the first week of May. Up to 10 entrepreneurs are accepted.

​

Applications submitted after the cohort has started will be considered for the next year.

​​
