Columbus: class: Capital for Construction: Reading and Living with Construction Contracts
Wednesday, Mar 21 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM
Have you ever been in a contractual dispute? Thought you were taken advantage of? Didn't read the fine lines? Here's an opportunity to learn how to avoid common pitfalls in construction contracts.
Learning How to Read and Live with Construction Contracts will be presented by notable attorney Mark Decker this month as part of the ECDI Capital for Construction Lunch and Learn series.
In law for over 45 years, Attorney Decker was one of the primary draftsmen of Ohio's modern mechanics' lien law and has served as chairman of both the Construction Law Committee of the Columbus Bar Association and the Law Group of the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio.
This workshop will start at the beginning. Standard provisions will be reviewed and their dangers discussed. While the presenter does not question the small contractor's knowledge of his/her trade, he does heavily prompt participants to think about the business of construction. In a rather unique approach, all participants will receive upon registration an emailed challenge that will help to prepare them for the workshop.
If you are not interested in purchasing a lunch, please enter Promocode Mbe2018 to avoid the lunch fee.
