Columbus and Southern Ohio: class: Excel Databases

Thursday, Oct 19 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM

In this intermediate Excel class, participants will learn:

  • How to utilize data from multiple spreadsheets
  • More complex, built-in Excel functions, including online resources on Excel's built-in functions
  • Overview of simple Excel Macros

By the end of the class, participants will be able to create and manage a simple Excel database and know how to utilize Excel's built in functions. Participants will also have a basic understanding of how to create their own functions within Excel.

Enrollment in the October 5th class - "Introduction to Excel" - is not required, but is strongly recommended.

This class will discuss certification programs (MBE, EDGE, WBE, DBE and LEDE), the certification process, and what documents to submit with your application.  This class is presented by Ronda Watson Barber, publisher of OhioMBE. Ronda has a wealth of knowledge and experience in guiding small businesses through the certification process.

Columbus and Southern Ohio: event: VGATE - Veterans Growing America Through Entrepreneurship

The Women's Business Center of Ohio in collaboration with the SBA and Fifth Third Bank bring you VGATE. Celebrating and supporting the entrepreneurial veteran spirit with a day of networking, training, resources, lunch, and a musical performance provided by Columbus City Schools.

Training: Boots to Business, an entrepreneurship training program offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) open to Service members (including members of the National Guard and Reserves) and their spouses. The curriculum provides assistance to those interested in exploring business ownership or other self-employment opportunities by leading them through the key steps for evaluating business concepts.

In addition to Boots to Business, there will be a resource fair during registration, lunch, and at the conclusion of the training. Resource fair participants include:
