Cleveland and Northern Ohio: Small Enterprise Education Development (S.E.E.D.) Training Series

Sometimes even well-equipped entrepreneurs can find themselves in a rut, or just hungry for more information on small business success and growth. The Small Enterprise Education Development (SEED) Training Series is designed for entrepreneurs who are ready to enhance their business idea or expand an existing small enterprise into a viable and profitable business. Clients taking this course will focus on four critical developmental areas; business concept, organization, customer relations, and operations using the GrowthWheel® concept, an interactive tool that helps entrepreneurs develop their business through an action-oriented process. Clients will also complete homework assignments that will assist them in developing a business plan and 30/60/90-day action plan.

• Module 3: Customer Relations

There will be no class the week of April 24th.

Monday May 1st, 2017. 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Cost: $150.00 for four-class series and certificate of completion. This series will be held at The Garfield Heights Public Library at 5409 Turney Road, 44125.

Full series is required for start-up phase prospective ECDI lending clients. Clients are encouraged to attend an Info Session and Entrepreneurial Readiness beforehand. Registration closes 2 business days before the class or when the class is fully booked; series fills up quickly. Classes are subject to cancellation. Please arrive at The Library approximately 15 minutes prior to the beginning of class.  For special considerations, call Lauren Smith at (216) 912-5665.

Please be advised that an additional $25.00 may be required for materials if you have a business partner who will also attend.

Creators of handmade products are invited to apply to a 6-week training program designed to prepare product entrepreneurs for store shelves. Learn to Develop a business model around a product, build a brand and marketing strategy around a product, position a product for success, price a product, label, manufacture, license a product, and more!

Cleveland and Northern Ohio: ECDI Information Session

ECDI presents a brief overview presentation to inform prospective ECDI clients and partners about programs to develop, fund, and launch a business.  The information session will also explain ECDI program requirements, follow-ups, and procedures. Program is required for prospective ECDI clients; must register in advance. This session will be held at The Women's Business Center of Northeast Ohio, 2800 Euclid Avenue Suite 509, Cleveland, Ohio 44115.

Akron: Cash Flow

Facilitated by Chemical Bank, this workshop provides a practical introduction to key topics related to starting and managing a business. Material and handouts were developed jointly by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and are provided to attendees.

After completing this workshop, members will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose of cash flow management in a small business.
  • Make cash flow projections based on the cash cycle.
  • Identify some ways to manage cash flow, including receivables and payables.
