About Us
Established in 2004 by Founder and Chief Executive Officer Inna Kinney, The Economic and Community Development Institute (ECDI) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit “for impact” community based organization located in downtown Columbus.
Organization Profile
Among its many services, ECDI is certified by the U.S. Department of Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) lender, as well as by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as an intermediary micro-lender.
Dependent on the funding source, ECDI has served more 1,000 clients in several areas throughout Ohio, including Franklin, Licking, Union, Delaware, Mahoning, Pickaway and Madison counties.
At the core of the organization’s services is the ECDI Board of Directors. The 11-member board is comprised of individuals who voluntarily provide professional expertise to ensure ECDI’s mission statement is executed to its full potential.
As ECDI is continually expanding, it currently employs 23 people full-time, who are strongly engaged in the vision of investing in people to create measurable and enduring social and economic change.

2007 Microenterprise Annual Report
ECDI General Client Application, Upon the completion of this general application form and the submission of all required information to an ECDI staff member, you will be required to submit a non-refundable $25 application fee (in cash, check, credit card or money order) to enroll in an ECDI Individual Development Account or the ECDI Microenterprise Microloan Program.
